I can't wait to share with you how to make one for your front
door. They are perfect for Memorial Weekend and the 4th of July! Plus that are
super easy to make, I finished mine in just 2 evenings. It truly was the
perfect craft for this super pregnant lady! :)
What you'll need:
1 pool noodle. [Depending on your noodle, you may
have to cut a little bit off. Make it into a circle to determine the size. Then
tape the ends together with heavy duty duct tape]
3 different colors of duct tape [This helps to
remember to know which color goes where. Especially with the red and white,
helps to make sure you have even stripes. Also the tape can help reenforce the
pins as they go into the noodle]
1-2 box of 1 1/16 inch dressmaker pins
14 inches of blue felt (will cut into 2 1/2
inch squares)
22 inches of white felt (will cut into 2/12 inch
squares)
18 inches of red felt (will cut into
2 1/2 inch squares)
7 stars (this can vary based on what you want)
Carolyn's wreath on her front door! |
A few weeks ago my aunt Carolyn bestie came down from
Pennsylvania, she was working on the following wreath for Carolyn. Tensley
loved helping them make the wreaths, she put bring them the fabric squares and
sometimes fold them so all they had to do was place the pin through it and onto
the noodle. I loved them so much that when Carolyn was listing out her supply
list to make more, I asked her to add enough for me too. I just finished mine
on Monday and I can't wait to place mine on our front door for Memorial Weekend
coming up at the end of Month.
This is one my aunt Denise has started. You can see how we used clear
and gray duct tape to divide up how many white and red sections we will need.
Underneath all the blue felt pieces we had placed blue tape so we would know
how big to make this section as well.
Here is a sample of
all three felt colors, they are 2 1/2 inch squares.

Fold the square intro a triangle. |
Fold into a second triangle, then add your straight pin to it. |
We used the tape to color code our sections. Here the blue is all filled up! |
Here is another one in progress. |
