Blizzard 2016

Almost 2 weekends ago now, we had a HUGE snow storm. Many places in our areas closed Friday, so we had a 3 day weekend! It was so nice having Tensley home from school and David off of work. We all love loved loved it!

This girl slept till 10:20am. She is her mother's daughter and knows the importance of a snow day!

The first of many times shoveling the walk.

All ready for the snow!

During quiet time/nap time. I worked on going through Everley's clothes.
I put outfits in 6 gallon size bags what I wanted to save. Everything else we donated.

My mother in law texted us that evening at 5:20 asking if we had cabin fever. Of course we did, so we made our way to her house (10 minutes away) for some snow-cream. There was 3 inches of snow on the grown when we left, even the interstate was covered in snow!

We pulled out the vidoes/photos of Tensley's first birthday party!

We all had such a great time visiting and reminiscing about Tensley's first birthday. How is it that my baby is already 4! #excusemewhileIbawlmyeyesout

We loaded the girls up after maybe a 2 hour visit.
Any guesses how much snow fell while we were visiting my in-laws?
.....
.....
....
4 INCHES!
Yes I said 4 inches! We are crazy parents!

This was our drive home, at least the interstate was clear!
Thank you Lord for keeping us safe.

Sure enough this guy shoveled snow as soon as we got home
#blesshim

Saturday morning this girl spend her quiet time in her room.
She is working on writing songs and producing them.
(If you'd like her autograph, please email us.. we will send you one. David is convinced she is the next Taylor Swift!)

Saturday evening the interstate was clear! Wahoo!

I loved seeing the Flag flying High with the snowy sky surrounding it.
#AMERICA

Tensley had her first sleepover at her BFF Eisley house.
So we put Everley to bed early, popped some popcorn, finished off the bottle of wine (priorities) and watched a date night movie! I just love simple date nights at home with this guy.
Even if I agree to the guy movie.
American Sniper. It's a great movie! I encourage you all to watch it, but its very heavy hearted.
Be prepared!

Sunday it was 36 Degrees outside. This guy clearly thought Spring had Sprung! Haha
#livingwithDavid

Monday School was out again. So we had our friends KK and Lucas over.
Tensley and Lucas played outside for almost 45 minutes!

He held her hand all over the yard helping her through the snow, when she fell and decided to just do a snow angel. He got right down on the ground with her and participated.
These two have truly been bestie since they were just week old babes!

Monday evening the girls and I had Bachelor Night with my aunt and cousin.
When I asked David to help me put the girls in the car, this is how he took Everley out.
Because, remember 36 degrees means Spring has sprung!

Now that we have had one good snow for the year, I'm ready for it all to melt.
I'm fully ready for warmer days, with the high being 65 degrees.
Spring wardrobe I'm looking at you!
I can fully promise you, if it snows again. I will be in full motion to convince David to have us move south! Please let me know your favorite southern places to live. (I prefer places that it only snows maybe once a year, ya know minimum snow/ice

Show & Tell || Win your Heart

I hate that I'm not getting this post out until this evening, but better late than never right!
So this evening I'm linking up with Andrea to talk all about how to win my heart!

Back when we were dating this guy won my heart in many different ways. Though the biggest way this guy won my heart was by being a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus. David had countless talks with me about the Lord, faith and salvation. When we met, I was extremely angry and upset with God. He had just taken my mom from me a month before we met. David truly lead me back to the Lord. I am forever grateful for him for guiding my heart and leading me back to Christ.

Other ways David won my heart when we were dating was by always being up for attending my god-brothers/sister events with me. He went to countless Lacrosse games, babysitting, dance recitals, and other family outings. Let me just say this, a man who will play with your siblings or kids in general. HOLD ON TO THAT MAN LADIES! If emojis were a thing back in 2010, I would have had all the hearts eyes every time David hung out with my god-brothers/sister and babysat with me.

Now David wins my heart in littles ways, but every now and then he pulls out the big guns again. It's so interesting to see how 'winning' my heart has changed the longer we have been married, but yet a few things still stay the same.

                         1. Getting the girls up or putting them to bed at night. Nothing makes my heart swoon for this man, like when he takes the girls in the morning or the evening. Especially on days he leaves before they wake up or gets home after he goes to bed, I know they loves those special moments with him as much as he does.
                         2. Cleaning the bathrooms! I know I hit the jackpot with this man. During my pregnancy with Tensley, cleaning the bathrooms would make me sick. Ever since this guy cleans the bathrooms.
                         3. Little notes. One of my big BIG love languages is words of affirmation. I love when he leaves notes around the house. Some of are funny, some are sweet, some are ya adultish, and some are encouraging. They truly make my entire day when he leaves them. Probably one of my favorite memories from us dating is when he left pink/green sticky notes all over my car.
                         4. Dancing with this guy. We love to dance in the kitchen, even though now I'm typically traded for a cute 4yr old partner. (They are currently working on a routine for her wedding days, again all the heart eyes!).
                         5. One on One Date nights. I love spending time alone with this guys, especially when we get to talk about our hopes and dreams for our future. I could honestly plan out every little detail of our future if he would let me, I know he is thankful that God is clearly in control of though. Because if not, well poor David. :) haha. It so fun to predict and talk about what we hope the plans God has for our lives.

This May we are celebrating 5 years of marriage! I'm so blessed and honored to be his wife. He truly makes this life so so much fun, I'm so thankful for the many ways he wins my heart.
