#ADAMLIKE

Today marks a year.

August 26.

A year that not only changed our community but changed my family in ways that I can't even explain.

A year that seems like it has gone by way to fast but also way to slow all at the same time.

A year that has forced us to try to heal, mend our hearts and move forward.

A year that we all wished wasn't the reality.

A year without you Adam.

To read more about Adam and what he meant to myself and my family,
you can read all about him here
This post includes some of the precious memories and photographs we have with him.

Today I'm asking you do be #ADAM LIKE
To cheer for the underdog.
To LOVE BIG, BIGGER THEN EVER!
To DANCE MORE!
To LAUGH MORE!
To go out of your way for someone.
To make this moment, the greatest moment.
To be spontaneous.
To be there for a friend, no matter what the cost.
To tell those you LOVE, YOU LOVE THEM!
To be Silly, really Silly!

Catch Up Thursday || Ballet Recital

Sorry we missed last weeks Catch Up Series.
I was at the beach with my family, it was the best and shortest beach trip ever!
Just gives us more to catch up on later, right y'all! ;)

This past year we allowed Tensely to take Ballet.
She had been asking to take ballet for a while along with taking gymnastics.

We were recommended to take lessons from the Southwest Virginia Ballet Company that is in our area. We are so glad we chose them, we absolutely love the studio and her dance teacher.

Tensley didn't start until January, which is considered in the middle of the year.
I'm glad our girl picked up the routine quick and her teacher said she was a delight to have in the studio.

Her recital fell on May 7 of all days this year.
So instead of having a big anniversary date with David to celebrate 5 years of marriage.
We spend the day at the theatre for a ballet recital.

Let be completely honest and say it was the BEST way to celebrate our anniversary.
Watching our sweet girl dance her heart out on stage.

Theatre Date calls for a BowTie!
Tensley told him he could only come if he wore this exact outfit and told us it was her day!
#Tensleystheboss

Before the ceremony!

Can you spot our girl in the middle!

I hate that these aren't better photos. We were in the middle of the seating section, so I had to zoom in the entire way on my cell phone. Truth be told, I had to sneak these photos.
There is absolutely NO flash photography or Video Cameras during the performance.
Knowing that we weren't buying a DVD this year, we all opted to sneak a few pictures.
HeHe.

After the performance!
Tensley had a big turn out of family and friends to watch her in first recital.
She loved every minute of them being there.
We got a photo with everyone except I don't have a copy of one with my In-laws or my Aunt.

Tensley and one of her dance BFFS, Lauren.
They wanted a picture together and ALL their flowers.

With Amee, Dida, and Uncle Trent.

MeMe Lisa and Papa Todd.
{Fun fact: Lisa use to take ballet from the same teacher when she was in HS}

Mrs. Smeltzer. her dance teacher.
We just love her to pieces.

Ballet starts back up in September.
To say Tensley is excited would be an understatement.

When we ask Tensley which one she loves more gymnastic or ballet, she says she cannot decide.
For now we have agreed that she can do both actives until she is older.

All About Tensley

Since today is the first day of school, okay it's Pre-K.
I thought I would do a post all about Tensley!

How is this sweet girl about to be 5 in less than 2 months!

#babiesdontkeep
#holdme

Tensley is sensitive, sweet, and full of spunk.
Depending on her surroundings depends on if she will come out full of personality and bubbly like her momma or if she will be a little bit more quiet and reserved like her daddy.
Though once she is completely comfortable she is all personality!

Right now Tensley is doing Gymnastics and Ballet.
She loves them both and says she cannot choose between them.

She is finishing out her last year of Pre-K.
David and I are contemplating our options for Kinder.
We cannot decide between homeschool, public or private.
If you ask Tensley she will tell you she is going to Faith Christian, a private school in our area.
{Any advice is greatly appreciated}

Tensley loves imagination play. She spend her entire quiet time (which is typically 2 hours due to Everley's nap) playing baby dolls, office, tea party, ballet, gymnastics, and even practicing her reading. Watching her use her imagination is such a joy.

She loves that to match Everley, even in their pajamas if they can.
She doesn't just like to be the big sister, she is constantly being the momma to Everley.
At least once a day I utter the words "Are you her mother"
Tensley, you will make a great momma one day.

This girl loves all things arts and crafts.
The highlight of her summer was attending art camp at her school.
She is constantly asking to draw pictures for us and other family members.
My favorite piece of Tensley Art is a family portrait she drew of us at art camp this summer. We even framed it so we can place it in her room.

I thought I would ask Tensley a few questions to mark this current season in her life.

Favorite Color: Pink

Favorite TV show: Sofia The First

Favorite movie: Elle Enchanted

Favorite food: Black Beans and Green Beans

Favorite candy: Skittles

Favorite place to visit: The Trampoline Park

Favorite part of school: The crafts.

Favorite thing about Everley: She plays with me.

What one word describes you the best: Happy!

Friday Favorites

It's Friday!!
We made it through another week friends, Hooray for the weekend!
Today I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea for the Friday Favorites Series!

I'll be honest I'm look forward to this weekend, but once Monday comes it will officially be our
LAST week of summer vacation #boooo
Good thing we will be heading to the beach later that week.

1.5yr Anniversary Mexican Style

This week I have been sharing our Anniversary trip to Riveria Maya.
If you missed any of the post you can read about the first part of our trip here and the last part of our trip here.
Don't forget to let me know any questions you have, next week I'm answering all of your questions!

2.Lunch with David

It's very very rare that we get to see David during the work day.
On the rare occasion he is on our side of town, he will sometimes swing by the house for lunch.
This past week, when we finished up gymnastics we decided to call and see if we could pick him up for lunch. It truly was the greatest treat to our week and the best way to start slowly winding down summer.

3.Phelp's Funnies

Have y'all been watching the Olympics?
Our family is kinda obsessed with them, we are watching gymnastics and swimming like it's our jobs!
I found both of these Phelps Memes yesterday while I was online and literally laughed out loud.
The #PhelpsFace are some of our favorite Memes right now, they are so stinking funny.
USA Today has some really funny memes, you can find them here if you need a good laugh.

4.A New Title
sign reads:
"my kids call it yelling when I raise my voice...but I call it Motivational Speaking for the selective hearing"

Okay so I don't really have a new title of motivational speaker..
Though I seem to think I give pretty good advice or life coach chats
(think again don't we all)
However I have to be honest friends, my parent style tends to be Yeller!
Boo
Please help me find a support group.
When we were out shopping at the mall the other weekend, I found this sign at Alter'd State. I truly thought it was the best thing and told David this could possibly justify my yelling (okay maybe not).
I'm still kicking myself for not purchasing the sign.
Guess I'll just have to attempt to make my own!

5.Bella Luna
I wore this dress Sunday to church and I paired it with these booties that I scored during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

Bella Luna is a new store that has opened up in my hometown of Salem. I'm currently obsessed with this store, I stop by at least once a week to see what new arrivals they have.
Also my girls are obsessed with their bath bombs, every time we go in they get a new one.
Tensley says they take turns picking out which one, they have each picked out one so far.
They come in both large and small sizes, we always get the small ones.
I typically cut them in half so the girls get more uses out of them.

Catch Up Thursday || Everley's 1st Birthday

Friends it's time for Catch Up Thursday!
I truly am loving this series at catching up with y'all.
So grab your coffee or tea and lets catch up!

On May 9 we celebrated our sweet girl turning the Big 1!

I can't believe it's been a year already, seems like just the other day it was Mother's Day weekend and we were celebrating this sweet girls arrival.

The Saturday after her official birthday we met friends and family at my aunts neighborhood park for a birthday celebration. It was a little windy and chilly that morning, but we all still had the best time celebrating.
The big kids played on the play ground or the picked up a game of basketball with my god-brother and his cousins that were in town.
I know the big kids thought it was cool having some high schoolers at a babies birthday party.
Clearly Everley runs with a very hip crowd.

Not sure what to think about Chocolate Cake.

Clearly she learned to LOVE chocolate!

We all had the best time celebrating this sweet girl.
We are so thankful that God made us parents to this little girl, we can't wait to see what the next year holds for her.

A few of Everley's Favorite Things:
Blueberries.
Her sister, Tensley.
Strawberries.

Purses.
Brushing her hair.

Anniversary Mexican Style Day 4-6

Guys I can't wait to share with you Days 4-6 of our Anniversary vacation to Riveria Maya.
If you missed Days 1-3, you can find that post here.

The last few days we spent the majority of our time going from pool, beach, back to pool.
Though one day we did venture out and go shopping!
I truly enjoyed all this one on one time I got with best guy.

After dinner before the show starts.
Our resort had great entertainment every night!

Shopping in Playa Del Carmen.
Such a fun outdoor shopping strip, lots of local vendors along with known retail stores we have here.
We bought little Mexican dolls for the girls and some local artwork for the house.
I really wish I had bought cute matching fiesta dresses for the girls and me, but I know they wouldn't last nearly as long as the gifts we purchased.

I'm personally glad I had David to go with me, I don't know if I would do shopping at Playa alone or with just a group of girls. We had some strange encounters, but knowing that our sweet cab guy Lewis was close by maybe I'll adventure out if I ever go back without David.

Our personal Cab driver Lewis!
He is the sweetest guy and shared so much about Mexico with us.
The cool thing about our resort is that they have their own personal taxi service.
Also Lewis dropped us off at Playa Del Carmen, then parked and hung out with the other cab drivers until we were ready to go about 3 hours later. We couldn't believed he stayed and just catered to our needs. He was so sweet about it and told us it's part of there service with our resort.

On our last full day, we woke up early to snag a pool side cabana bed.
Ours was by the second pool, so we got to watch the entertainment show of drink mixing, everyone in line for pizza (We ate it every day for lunch. If you know David this is a HUGE DEAL!), and watch games of Water Volleyball!
I loved being in the shade, especially since I had gotten burnt the day before.
Also if I ever figure out what kind of mattresses that was (and at the beach) you bet your dollar I would order one, no questions asked on the price, because that thing was the most comfortable thing ever! Even David commitment on it, again big deal for him!

This is the view of the lazy river pool from our balcony.

I just adore this photo that the photographer at the resort took.
This was of our last night before the White Party.
We had a blast this night and met some wonderful friends!

Top, sorry y'all can't find a similar one | Skort | David's Shirt (similar)
Another picture that we love from the resort photographer.
We both said we should have really gotten them to take our picture throughout the resort, I highly recommend doing that if you ever go. Make the time for it.

See I told you we made friends!
This sweet lady Angie, was a hoot and a half!
Funniest part of the evening, is people kept asking if we were mother/daughter.
So of course we played it up near the end.
She is probably the only person that could have convinced me to sing Karaoke too.
Let's say I was super bummed when we finally went to sign up and the guy told us they were doing the last song. #bummer #dodgedabullet

If you guys are local to Atlanta or ever visit, you should totally go eat at their families restaurant.
I'm already begging David for weekend trip to Atlanta, to see my cousin, but more importantly see this fun lady and eat at Rednexican!

One final photo on the steps before we loaded up on the shuttle to the airport.
We had the best time and were both able to truly relax.
Though we did miss our girls, we are already talking about when we can go back.

I'm working on a post of next week about Do's, Don'ts, Love it and Dislikes about our trip.
If you have any questions regarding are vacation, please leave them in the comments or email me {larboswell@gmail.com} so that I can answer them!

Anniversary Mexican Style Day 1-3

Since our Anniversary is 2 days before Everley's birthday. We decided to wait until July to go on an Adult-Only vacation. It was way overdue and very much needed!
We Stayed at the Excellence Riveria Maya in Cancun, Mexico.
Our travel agent raved about this resorts, as well as some of our friends who went last year.
We are so glad they recommended Excellence to us, we loved everything about this resort.

Mexican night was Saturday night.
The entertainment after dinner was absolutely amazing.
I was so impressed with all the dancers, we truly had great seats for this show!

I can't wait to share with you guys Day 4-6 tomorrow.
I'm also secretly planning on how I can convince David to take us back, you guys have any ideas?
